Cottonwood Adopt a Highway

Cottonwood Environmental Law Center proudly announces the adoption of a two-mile stretch along Highway 191 at the entrance to Gallatin Canyon. Twice a year, our team, along with community members, comes together to clean up this section of the highway. Our commitment to environmental protection extends beyond law, encompassing hands-on initiatives like these. While our environmental advocacy involves legal action, we firmly believe in collaborating with the community to maintain a clean and healthy environment.

The impact of our efforts goes beyond just looks; it directly benefits wildlife, preserves the Gallatin River water quality, and improves traffic safety. As a conservation organization, we recognize that caring for our environment often begins with simple actions, such as picking up trash.

In October, 2023, the Cottonwood team and community members collected over twenty 50-gallon bags of trash, mitigating potential threats to the environment.

Our commitment to keeping Highway 191 clean and sustainable remains strong. If you'd like to join us in these efforts, stay tuned for future cleanup dates posted on our social media.
